Running Running Running

Hello all! Today I woke up early for the second to last urban rebounding class until after my marathon. The schedule of training for the marathon is pretty intense and doesn’t allow for much trampoline time – boo. As many of you out there know I have had a pretty crappy couple of days. From NYU political bull to job prospects falling through, needless to say it was tough to get out of bed this morning. But I am glad I did because now I have those endorphins going like crazy! Last night at the bar I was telling one of my customers about a company I have been interviewing with for a few months that recently decided not to hire me (but they were shady about it) and I was super bummed out. In fact, I am still super bummed out. However, it was kind of nice to know that my customers are looking out for me.

Later, our wine sales rep, David, came by and I chatted him up for a while. I wanted him to taste our Cabernet, because I think its awful and I wanted to make sure I wasn’t crazy. Turns out I was right on the money about the taste, and apparently that impressed him. Maybe that means I have a career in the wine business. That would be awesome but also dangerous because I LOVE WINE. Also a problem in my marathon training.

I bought some new running shoes at JackRabbit this week for the marathon – and the store was super cool! They videotape you as you are running on a treadmill and get you a shoe based on the way that your feet land and pick up. I guess I roll inwards, which means that $100 later I am the proud owner of a pair of Asics structure runners. I think now that I have invested some cash this is for real. D-day is November 16 – so I will start blogging about it regularly. Which I guess makes “Confessions of a Brooklyn Bartender” a little more about health and fitness. Oh well.

Happy Veterans Day to all you lucky people who have the day off! I am off to class and homework and whatnot. I am going to make my dad’s famous spaghetti and meatballs tonight so I have to get cooking now! Hug a veteran today – they deserve it!
