Autumnal Update

I realize I have been absent from the blogesphere for a while now, most of that having to do with the fact that it is autumn! Which means it is not only my favorite time of year, but also my favorite holiday (Halloween) and midterms time at NYU.

Autumn in Central Park!

In the meantime I have been busy with Halloween. First I carved a pumpkin:

Argh!

But I carved it too early in October because it died. And rotten and molded from the inside out. It was actually pretty gross. So Victor decided to paint a pumpkin that was displayed all month at the bar:

notice a resemblance to anyone?

So then Halloween rolled around and we got all dressed up and went out into the east village. After abandoning the parade because of the rain, we decided to head out to a bar for some brews and tater tots:

Jedi, Vulcan and Leprachaun We had such a good time – even though I nearly got into a fight with a frat guy dressed as Van Wilder. I would write about the fight but I may or may not have said some inappropriate things. But I will always support Oregon (or any team for that matter) when they are up against USC. Of course our group not only consisted of a Vulcan, Jedi and leprechaun, but also these folks:

awkward combo...

Later in the week MK came to visit, which of course means my annual trip to Serendipity 3, in the East 60’s. For those of you who have been living under a rock, it may be the best ice cream parlor in the world. Known for it’s famous Frozen Hot Chocolate:

Delicious!

Though it may look like a chocolate milk shake, I assure you, it is not. It literally tastes like frozen hot chocolate. It was wonderful and sweet and covered in homemade whipped cream. Basically a fat kid’s dream – thus can only be consumed annually. But it left me feeling a bit like a whale:

giant ass whaleQuite like the whale we saw later that day a the Museum of Natural History on the Upper West Side. Which we went to after Zabars. At Zabars we had the best girlled cheese on the planet (in my opinion) which they were almost out of but after accosting the lady who worked there they managed to find some :) Needless to say we ate a lot of food in two days – a lot. But don’t worry bloggers I made sure to go on a couple of long runs to help to counter all this bad eating.

Have a wonderful weekend!
